Do you need a bat survey?

The Manx Bat Group can undertake bat surveys required as part of the planning process or to provide you with information before you embark on building, renovation or demolition work or the removal of trees. It is very important to find out whether bats are using the structure before carrying out any work so that you do not break the law protecting bats and their roosts (which applies even if the bats are not currently present). We can also advise you on solutions for living with bats, such as the internal bat box pictured here, which allows the bats access from the outside but is sealed from the interior of the house.

Surveys are undertaken by trained volunteers. A fee is charged based on volunteer time and related expenses and you will receive a written report. For more information please contact our surveys coordinator Nick Pinder.
