Join the Manx Bat Group

Become a member to support our work and join in all the Group’s activities. Current annual membership fees are shown in the table. Subscription fees are due each year on 1st October. New memberships paid for after 30th June continue for the following subscription year.

Please read the instructions below about the different ways to pay.

Bats are an important indication of our landscape’s health and intrinsically fascinating creatures. They need looking after and I would urge you to get to know your bats better! The Manx Bat Group are the best way to do this, so try to get involved. 9th April 2015 Chris Packham

How to pay

You can pay by bank transfer, cheque or cash for one year’s subscription OR (our preferred method) set up a standing order that will renew your membership automatically each year until you cancel. Please read the instructions here then choose your membership level in the table above to go to the payment form.

Automatic renewal

  1. Please complete the membership form with your details and submit it.
  2. Then set up your payment via your bank: a yearly standing order on 1st October to Lloyds TSB, 30-12-80, account 01082548 Manx Bat Group for the relevant fee (ie £10 / £7.50 / £4).
  3. Please remember to include your name as a reference.
  4. Your membership fee will be paid automatically each year at your renewal date unless you cancel via your bank.

One year by bank transfer

  1. Please complete the membership form with your details and submit it.
  2. Then set up your payment via your bank: a one-off payment to Lloyds TSB, 30-12-80, account 01082548 Manx Bat Group for the relevant fee (ie £10 / £7.50 / £4).
  3. Please remember to include your name as a reference.
  4. You will need to make a payment again when each renewal is due.

One year by cheque or cash

  1. Please complete the membership form with your details and submit it.
  2. Then send your payment to Manx Bat Group Treasurer, 4 Oxford Street, Douglas, IM1 3JF (or bring it to a meeting if paying with cash).
  3. You will need to make a payment again when each renewal is due.

However, we encourage you to consider payment by yearly standing order as this makes the admin easier for you and for the Bat Group and also keeps costs down.

Membership benefits

As a member of the Manx Bat Group you will:

  • be able to attend our regular bat-related group meetings
  • be invited to join us on regular bat walks around the Island
  • receive details of member-only socials and events
  • be eligible for bat worker training
  • have access to the Group’s library of bat books and resources and other Group members’ knowledge and experience
  • be supporting Manx bat conservation
